The seven members include five chiropractors with at least three years experience and two public members.  Professional members are limited by statute to no more than two from the same chiropractic college.

Entity Powers and Duties, Activity Summary
The board verifies credentials, examines, licenses and regulates chiropractors; reviews/handles complaints; approves continuing education programs, audits licensee's CE; and registers professional corporations.

ACTIVITY SUMMARY

Issues licenses to practice, reviews complaints, monitors continuing education, promulgates rules, guides board direction, attends national seminars and conferences.

Each member will attend 1 complaint review committee meeting per month and 5 board meetings per year.  May also be assigned to other committees by the President. 

Board Officers will also attend 7 executive committee meetings per year and attend an annual national convention and an annual district meeting.

Note there is often reading prep for the above meetings, i.e. investigative reports, patient files, prior minutes, etc. 


Meeting Information
Meetings typically last: 2-4 hours
Meeting Frequency: Attend five board meetings per year on the first Thursday of Feb-Apr-Jul-Sep-Nov. Board members sit on one complaint panel per month on a fixed-recurring schedule. Members may also be appointed to participate on one or more board committees. Committees usually meet on Tuesdays or Thursdays. All meetings require a varying amount of preparation; i.e. prior minutes investigative reports, patient files, etc.
