BOARD/COMMISSION:  Medicaid Services Advisory Committee

Membership includes five seats within the three categories listed below.  One seat within each category is to be filled by a tribal leader. 

1.  Medicaid beneficiaries or caregivers of beneficiaries

2.  Physicians or health care providers of Medicaid beneficiaries

3. Non-profit, consumer or human services organizations familiar with the health care needs of Medicaid populations. Excludes providers enrolled in Minnesota Health Care Programs. 

Travel per diems are available for members traveling to and from Medicaid Services Advisory Committee meetings. No additional reimbursements or stipends are available.

The Medicaid Services Advisory Committee provides guidance on key initiatives brought forward by the Department of Human Services that affect Medicaid program administration, policy, or Medicaid funded services. 

Committee members represent community groups and consumer organizations, Medicaid beneficiaries and caregivers, and various health care and long-term services and supports professionals that influence the health and covered services of Medicaid populations.

Members will achieve the Committee purpose by: 

• Providing guidance on specific policies, initiatives, and proposed program changes brought forward by the Department of Human Services; and 
• Acting as liaisons back to individuals, organizations, and institutions that receive, facilitate, or provide Medicaid services.

The Committee serves to advise the Department of Human Services and is not a governing board.
