The board administers the Minnesota Prescription Monitoring Program the Minnesota Insulin Safety Net Program, the Opiate Product Registration Fee Program. It contracts with a vendor for the operation of the Minnesota Medication Repository Program. It investigates jurisdictional complaints, takes disciplinary action when necessary, issues licenses and registrations, conducts inspections, and provides technical assistance to licenses/registrants, other state agencies, and elected public officials.
ACTIVITY SUMMARY
The board issues licenses and registrations for drug related facilities including Pharmacies, Manufacturers, Wholesalers, Third-Party Logistics Providers, and Medical Gas Distributors; the board also issues individual credentials for Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and Controlled Substance Researchers. The board conducts facility inspections and provides technical assistance to licensees/registrants, other state agencies, the public, and elected public officials. The board also investigates jurisdictional complaints and takes disciplinary action when necessary. The board engages in rulemaking periodically for Minnesota Rules Chapter 6800.
